Our Story
Good Neighbor was founded on the belief that community matters—and that everyone has something to offer. Whether it’s sharing a resource, a skill, an idea, or even just showing up with care and kindness, small acts can have a big impact when we come together as neighbors.
In response to rising costs and economic uncertainty, Good Neighbors founder envisioned a self-sustaining thrift store that reinvests directly into the community she calls home.
We are laying the groundwork—through fundraising and outreach—to soon open a space where affordable goods are accessible to all and where every purchase helps fund programs and partnerships that benefit local residents.
Today, Good Neighbor is proudly building community through creativity, connection, and care. We are committed to expanding our impact and creating more opportunities for North County neighbors to thrive.
Our Mission
To strengthen our community by creating enriching experiences, fostering mutual aid, and reinvesting in our North County community.
Our Vision
Our vision is a self-sustaining thrift store that reinvests in people, fosters connection, and ensures everyone has access to the support they need.
Our Values
-
Everything we do is centered around building a stronger, kinder, community that thrives. This can only be done from a place of care and connection and when we celebrate and support one another.
-
Accessibility and inclusivity are an important aspect of the work done at Good Neighbor, we want to ensure that resources and experiences are available to all, regardless of any financial or physical barriers.
-
We strive to promote a community of ethical consumption and mutual aid. Thrifting and shopping locally can help reduce waste, and pollution while ensuring the money spent with Good Neighbor supports something meaningful that directly benefits our community.
